Title: Free Pass or Not?: Cheating the System with Proxies and VPNs

Hey guys, I had a friend try to get a free pass on a crypto Airdrop by using a VPN to bypass the geo-restrictions. Claimed it was "technically legal" but I'm not buying it. Is using proxies and VPNs a free pass or just a lame cheat?
