Finally pulled the trigger on the A7IV — is the hype real or did I just cop a brick?

Just dropped the cash on this bad boy and honestly, I’m getting mixed vibes right out of the box. The autofocus seems crispy, but I'm paranoid I overpaid for specs I won't even touch. Who’s actually daily driving this thing and is it worth the upgrade or just mid?

I just upgraded from the A7III to the A7IV myself and I gotta say, the improved autofocus is a game changer. The 30 fps continuous shooting is insane for wildlife and sports photography, it's definitely worth the upgrade if you're a serious photographer. But if you're shooting mostly static subjects it might not be worth the cost.

I've got an A7IV and I can confirm the hype is mostly real, the autofocus is insane and it's a beast in low light. I did find the battery life to be slightly worse than my a6400 though. The 8k video is also a game changer, the quality is crazy sharp.

Congrats on the new camera, A7IV is a beast of a device, but I've heard the autofocus can be a bit finicky in certain situations, especially with slower lenses.

dude I'm still rocking my A7III and the new camera is mostly incremental updates, but that 30mp sensor is a game changer for low-light work, have you had a chance to shoot anything with it yet?
