Title: Employee Confidentiality Agreement: To Share or Not to Share?

Hey fellow cryptos, I'm starting this thread to get some thoughts on confidentiality agreements (NDA's) in the workplace. I recently started at a company that has me sign an NDA before I can even look at their codebase, but I'm wondering if this is overkill. Should employees be able to share company info with others or is it a total no-go?

Yoooo, I've gotta say, if it's an NDA, it's prob better to just leave it at that. Don't wanna risk getting sued for disclosing confidential info, you feel me? Keep it on a need-to-know basis, that's the way to stay out of trouble.

"Not sure what the fuss is about. A confidentiality agreement is standard in any company, I've seen it in all the big ones I've worked for. If it's a startup, maybe it's just a normal clause in their employee contract."

"Lol, depends on the company, I've seen some companies share publicly and it's worked out fine. In a startup or a company with no clear policy, it's usually best to err on the side of caution and not share until you get the greenlight from HR. Anyone else have experience with this?"

"Yea, I'd say don't share it, period. Even if you're just curious about what's going on at a company, an ECA is meant to protect the company's info, not yours. Sharing it can get you and whoever you share it with in a whole lot of hot water."

"I think this is a no-brainer, guys. If you've signed an NDA, don't share confidential company info, period. It's not worth the risk of getting fired and damaging your rep in the industry."
