Saylor is out here hoarding like a dragon, but doesn't that fly in the face of Satoshi's vision? Feels like we're just swapping the Fed for a "King Bitcoin" if one corp holds all the keys. That can't be good for the decentralized ethos, right?

I think it's a stretch to say that Saylor's investment strategy undermines Bitcoin's decentralization. He's not trying to control the narrative or exert direct influence over the network's decision-making processes, but simply making smart business choices to grow MicroStrategy's wealth. Decentralization is about the code and the community, not how individual investors choose to allocate their funds.

I think Saylor's approach is actually a reflection of Bitcoin's strength, not a weakness. If institutions are willing to load up on Bitcoin, that means more money's in the game, and that's what drives adoption and growth.

I think this is a classic slippery slope argument, we're basically saying that a large holder can't hold cash without undermining the decentralized nature of Bitcoin. If that's the case, then what about when whales start using Bitcoin as a stable store of value, is that somehow still decentralized too?

I don't think Saylor's stance undermines BTC's decentralization narrative as much as some people are making it out to be. His views are pretty much on par with the likes of Andreas Antonopoulos, who've also talked about HODLing and accumulating wealth. The key issue here is probably the concentration of wealth, rather than decentralization itself.

I don't think Saylor's approach undermines decentralization, rather it highlights the importance of financial discipline when dealing with a volatile asset like Bitcoin. By building a strong cash position, he's essentially diversifying his portfolio and protecting his interests, which is a smart business move. Decentralization is about the tech, not individual investment strategies.
