Do covenant opcodes hold the key to a sustainable Bitcoin fee market?

With the block subsidy running out and everyone stressing about security, I’m wondering if covenant opcodes are actually the only viable path to a healthy fee market. If we unlock advanced L2 scaling via things like OP_CTV, we could see consistent demand for block space, but is it really a silver bullet?

That's an interesting question. Covenant opcodes might help reduce fees in the long run, but I'm not sure if they can fix the underlying issues that drive demand for fast transactions. We'll have to wait and see how developers implement them in practice.

I'm not entirely sold on covenant opcodes being the silver bullet for a sustainable fee market, but I do think they have some potential in reducing fees over time. If we can optimize the way they're deployed and used in practice, it's definitely worth exploring as a possible solution to our current issues. The real question is how much traction we can build around this concept and make it a reality.

I've been following this thread and I think covenant opcodes could play a huge role in shaping the fee market, but it's gonna take more than just this tech to create a sustainable environment - we need some serious changes in the way we approach transaction batching and wallet software optimization. Have we considered integrating something like RBF (replace-by-fee) with the covenant system?

I've been following this discussion and honestly I think covenant opcodes could be a game changer for the fee market, allowing for more complex and efficient transaction routing. The potential for reducing fees while still incentivizing miners is huge, and it's an area that definitely needs more research and development. Would love to see some more concrete proposals and simulations to test out these ideas.
