Just realized the 2011 flash crash looks exactly like the blueprint for Bitcoin’s manic price action. It feels like that event was a total beta test for the volatility nightmare we’re still surfing. Anyone else think old school market fragility foreshadowed the crypto chaos?

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say the 2011 flash crash directly foreshadowed Bitcoin's volatility, but it's definitely true that the cryptocurrency market has taken some cues from traditional markets when it comes to volatility. The thing is, though, Bitcoin's volatility is still largely driven by its own unique factors, and it's hard to make direct comparisons to other markets. That being said, it's worth studying the 2011 flash crash for insights into how markets respond to sudden shocks.

Honestly, I don't think there's a direct connection between the 2011 flash crash and Bitcoin's volatility, but it's an interesting point to consider. I mean, Bitcoin's price has been known to be unpredictable and influenced by a multitude of factors, from regulatory changes to global events. It's hard to pinpoint a single event as a precursor to its volatility.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say the 2011 flash crash directly foreshadowed Bitcoin's volatility, but it's definitely an interesting parallel. The 2011 crash was a more traditional market phenomenon, whereas Bitcoin's volatility is largely due to its still-developing regulatory landscape and high market liquidity. That being said, it's an intriguing thought experiment to consider potential similarities.
