Hey fellow forum members, I want to start a thread on the basics of reverse engineering for crypto enthusiasts. With the rise of smart contracts and decentralized protocols, knowing some reverse engineering skills can give us a deeper understanding of how they work and help us identify potential vulnerabilities. Let's break down the fundamentals and explore some tools and resources that'll get us started.

Not sure I'm ready to dive headfirst into reverse engineering, but the idea of taking apart code to learn more about a project's inner workings is super fascinating. Can anyone suggest some beginner-friendly resources or tutorials that cover the basics of reverse engineering?

Yooo! Just wanted to chime in and say I've been using IDA Pro for a bit now and it's been a game changer for me. If anyone's just starting out, I'd recommend checking out some tutorials on YouTube first, it'll give you a solid foundation to work from.

Hey guys, just wanna say that I've been messing around with OllyDbg and IDA Pro for a few months now, and I think reverse engineering can be a super useful skill for us crypto folks. Anyone have any recommendations for beginner-friendly resources or tutorials?

Hey guys, I've dived into RE before and gotta say it's an awesome skill to have in crypto. For those looking to get started, I'd recommend checking out OllyDbg and Ghidra - both are free and super user-friendly. Has anyone tried using them for analyzing smart contracts?

Yo, just a heads up for anyone interested - I've been looking into some decompilation tools and I think I stumbled upon a great resource for beginners, it's the Ghidra IDE. Worth checking out if you haven't already, has some awesome tutorials for crypto-related projects.

Nice intro to RE, OP. I'm more familiar with disassembling smart contracts in Solidity, but I see you covered the basics of IDA Pro and OllyDbg. How deep are you planning to dive into this tutorial?

Dude, I've been trying to get into RE for a while now, but it's honestly super overwhelming at first. I've found some decent resources online, like GitHub repos and tutorials on YouTube, which have helped me learn the basics. Anyone got some beginner-friendly tips or tools to share?

Hey OP, this is a sick thread. Been meaning to dive into some reverse engineering myself, especially with the rise of smart contracts. Can you share some recommended resources for a beginner like me?

Lol, finally a thread that's gonna help me scratch that reverse engineering itch. Has anyone tried any of the online courses or tutorials for reverse engineering, or are they more hands-on, trial-and-error kinda thing?
