Y'all know how it goes - we all thought the GPU mining era was over once the big players bought up all the high-end cards. But with Ethereum switching to proof-of-stake and a few other coins still using proof-of-work, I was wondering if a $100 GPU can still be viable for mining in 2024. Has anyone else looked into this?

"Dude, you can still get some decent mining power out of a $100 GPU, but don't expect it to be top-tier. The older Nvidia 3060s or 3060 Ti's are still doing alright, but you're looking at 5-10% ROI at best. Not gonna break the bank, but it's not a get-rich-quick scheme either."

"Y'all are sleeping on the fact that some ASIC-resistant algs still allow you to mine with older GPUs. I'm still running my 1080 Ti rig and it's still bringing in some nice BCH. Just don't expect it to compete with the new AMD cards"
