Just saw this thread pop up and thought I'd chime in. I had a friend who owned a Daihatsu Hijet in the past, and from what I recall, the real gem was its handling and agility in tight city spaces. Definitely didn't think of it as a 'sleeper' car at first, but once you get used to it, it's actually a fun ride.
