Title: Custom Node.js Wallets - Worth the DIY Risk?

Hey everyone, I've been considering creating a custom Node.js wallet for my crypto assets, but I'm unsure if it's worth the risk. Having total control over my code sounds awesome, but I've heard horror stories about bugs and exploits targeting DIY wallets. Has anyone else attempted this, and what were your experiences?

"Dude, if u're lookin' to make a custom wallet, I'd say go for it if u're willin' to learn. Node.js is a solid framework, but I'd advise against DIY-ing a wallet unless u have some crypto dev experience under ur belt. Otherwise, u might end up with some security vulnerabilities"

"Yea, IMO, building a custom Node.js wallet is worth the risk if you're a serious dev looking for control over security and customization. You can't go wrong with open-source projects like ethers.js, though. It's a good stepping stone for those new to wallet dev."

Personally, I say it's worth a shot if you're comfortable with the risks. A DIY node.js wallet can give you more control over your crypto, but if you mess up, you're dealing with the consequences. Just make sure you test it out thoroughly before using it for anything substantial.

"Yea, I've tried building my own Node.js wallets and it's been worth it for the customizability and security I get. The risk is real though, so you gotta be careful not to mess up the code. Just make sure you're following all the best practices and you'll be golden."

"Yea, I'd say do it if you're comfortable with coding and willing to take on the maintenance. Having a custom wallet can provide better control and flexibility, but it's not for the faint of heart. Just make sure you're using secure practices and testing it thoroughly before using it for actual transactions."

"IMO, DIY Node.js wallets can be a good option for the more tech-savvy users, but for newcomers, it's better to stick with tried-and-tested custodial wallets. The risk of errors and security vulnerabilities is just too high for casual users. Has anyone here successfully made their own Node.js wallet?"
