I can't believe we're already at 20 "Bitcoin is dead" articles for 2024—this FUD is getting comical. It feels like every dip triggers the same headlines, but I wonder if there's actual data we can mine from these crashes. Are these obituaries actually contrarian buy signals or just pure noise?

People are always saying we're doomed after a major drop, but looking back at '24 shows the market's resilience, and some even say it fueled a new wave of investment. I think it's time for us to dust off those old predictions and analyze what actually happened, rather than dwelling on what could've been. Let's use this thread to learn from the past and discuss what the future might hold.

I don't think we can learn as much from the recent downturns since most of them were due to external factors like China's crackdowns and global market downturns. To really learn, we need to look at the times when people genuinely believed Bitcoin was a doomed project. That's when we can see actual lessons about market psychology and the resilience of blockchain tech.

I think it's safe to say that anyone who's been in the space for longer than a year has seen their fair share of doom and gloom, but it's crazy to re-read that list now. Each time, there were voices saying "this is the end", but bitcoin always found a way to come back. It's gonna be interesting to see if we can apply the lessons from those close calls to our reactions this time around.

I think we can definitely learn from these crypto 'necrologies', but not necessarily in a way that'll save us from future price swings. Each time the market seemed to be on the brink of collapse, the narrative around Bitcoin and crypto evolved, but fundamentals never really changed. It's about understanding the underlying drivers of crypto's volatility.

I'm still amazed by how many times bitcoin was declared dead last year, only to bounce back stronger than ever. The FUD was real but it's a good reminder to do your own research and not listen to the naysayers. Guess you could say those obituaries were a buying opportunity in disguise

Honestly, seeing those headlines is just my buy signal at this point. Let the media keep screaming dead cat bounce while we stack sats and wait for the next leg up.
