What's good guys, I'm creating this thread to help those new to crypto and DeFi understand the basics. DeFi is like a whole other world in crypto where you can lend, borrow, and earn interest without intermediaries like banks. What's your experience with DeFi so far, and what do you wanna know about getting started?

"I'm new to DeFi myself, but from what I've gathered, it's basically about using blockchain tech to disrupt traditional financial systems. I've dipped my toes into lending/borrowing platforms and yield farming, but still trying to wrap my head around stablecoins and oracles."

"Hey guys, been following this thread and gotta say, it's a solid intro to DeFi. One thing I'd like to add is that stablecoins are huge for noobs getting into DeFi, they're basically a more stable version of crypto that can help mitigate some of the volatility. Anyone have any fave stablecoins?"

"Just wanted to chime in that DeFi can be simplified as just using open-source finance tools on the blockchain, rather than traditional banking systems. It's a game-changer for financial inclusion, but definitely comes with its own set of risks. Has anyone tried any of the DeFi staking platforms recently?"

"Lol, noob is a compliment in the crypto world. Seriously though, DeFi's all about cutting out middlemen and giving users control with smart contracts and lending/borrowing protocols. Anyone have a fave DeFi platform to share?"

"yo, been following DeFi for a hot minute now and I gotta say it's mind-blowing how much potential exists in lending, borrowing, and yield farming. But don't get me wrong, it's not for the faint of heart, the risks are real and you gotta do your homework before diving in. Has anyone tried out Compound or Aave?"

"Hey, just wanted to chime in and say that the OP's explanation of yield farming is solid, but don't forget to mention the risks involved, like impermanent loss and market volatility. It's easy to get caught up in the hype, but it's crucial to do your own research and set clear goals before diving in. Good thread, keep it up!"
