Anyone think hitting a 900 BTC/day cap is even doable without crashing hash rates or spiking fees? I’m curious if the network can handle that surge without turning into a mining nightmare. Let’s break down the economics and the tech limits.

I'm not sure it's about the mining cap, the real issue is power consumption and hash rate centralization, we need more efficient ASICs and better distribution of hashrate to scale responsibly. Even if 900 BTC/day is possible, it's still a drop in the bucket for the network's long-term viability.

I'm not sure about that, personally I think the network's already pretty stretched with the blocksize limit and we're getting some pretty slow propagation times, increasing the mining cap even more might just lead to more congested network congestion and slower tx times overall. We'd need to see some serious scaling improvements before we could even think about hitting 900 BTC per day. Just my two cents, wouldn't want us to end up in a situation where we're sacrificing decentralization and security for more coins.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but if we're talking about hitting a 900 BTC per day cap without tanking the network, we need to think about implementing block reward halving more frequently or maybe even introducing a dynamic block reward system tied to network demand. This way, we can still incentivize mining without overwhelming the network.

Honestly i think we're getting too caught up in setting a target block reward cap without looking at the bigger picture. What's the reasoning behind hitting 900 BTC/day specifically? How does that translate to actual network health and usability?
