Can SOCKS5 proxies mask the privacy pitfalls of BIP110?

Been digging into BIP110’s privacy flaws and I’m wondering if routing through a SOCKS5 proxy actually fixes anything or if it’s just a band-aid. If the metadata is baked into the tx structure, hiding the IP feels kinda useless, right?

I'm not super knowledgeable on BIP110 but I do know that SOCKS5 proxies can definitely help mask IPs, but if you're really concerned about privacy, using a VPN is still the way to go, IMO. BIP110 might add an extra layer of security but it's not a foolproof solution. Has anyone heard of any successful attempts to de-anonymize users with BIP110 and a good proxy?

I'm no expert, but as far as I know, SOCKS5 proxies are more about hiding your IP and location, whereas BIP110 is all about protecting your identity and funds from malicious transactions. While using a SOCKS5 proxy might add an extra layer of anonymity, it's not a foolproof solution to protect against BIP110 exploits. Has anyone done any research on combining both or are there other alternatives?

Honestly, BIP110 was created to combat deanonymization via IP mixing networks but it doesn't really cover the privacy issues with IP-based tracking. Using a SOCKS5 proxy can definitely help mask the IP exposure, but it's a temporary solution because the proxy itself can be compromised.

I've been using SOCKS5 with my Bitcoin node and so far it seems to be doing the trick, but I'm no expert on BIP110. From what I've read, SOCKS5 can help mask your IP but it's not foolproof and you should still be careful. Has anyone here done any real-world testing on this or is it all just theory at this point?
