Can Russian Developers Create a Faster Alternative to Current RNG Crackers Using Locally Sourced GPU Tech

With all the sanctions blocking high-end imports, I’m hearing rumors that Russian devs are optimizing domestic GPU clusters to brute-force RNGs way faster than anything currently on the market. If they’ve actually figured out how to squeeze that kind of performance out of local silicon, it could be a total game-changer for wallet security. Anyone seen the technicals on this or is it just hopium?

I think it's worth noting that some of the most significant advancements in GPU tech have come from Russian companies like NVIDIA's competitor Elbrus. Also, the fact that they're working with local resources means they can optimize software for their proprietary hardware, which could potentially give them an edge.

I think the main limiting factor is not the GPU tech itself, but the algorithms and architectures they'll be using. Russian devs can definitely create something innovative, but they'll have to keep up with the global competition in terms of research and development.

I'm not sure what kind of GPU tech Russia has at its disposal, but it's possible they could develop something that rivals NVIDIA or AMD's offerings, especially if it's a custom solution for their own needs. However, as for using it to create a faster RNG cracker, I think it's a stretch considering the amount of resources and R&D that goes into developing those types of tools.

Honestly, without access to top-tier Nvidia silicon, that’s going to be a massive uphill battle for raw speed. They might optimize the software side, but brute-forcing RNGs usually needs that bleeding-edge horsepower. I’ll believe it when I see the benchmarks.

Doubt it, the silicon origin matters way less than how well they optimize the code for the architecture. Unless they've got some secret sauce, a rig stacked with 4090s is still gonna smoke whatever they put together.

I highly doubt it. Without access to top-tier silicon, their locally sourced GPUs just don't have

Sounds like total cope unless they’ve found a specific exploit in the algo. Raw GPU power doesn't mean much if you're still trying to brute-force 256-bit entropy.

Russian devs are absolute wizards at optimization, so they could probably squeeze extra juice out of older consumer cards that Western teams overlook. If anyone's gonna push the limits of local hardware for RNG cracking, it's definitely them.
