Built from Scratch: DIY Crypto Mining Rig on a Budget

Hey all, I'm looking to build a mining rig from scratch on a budget and was wondering if anyone had any expertise to share. I'm trying to keep costs low, around $500-$1000, and was thinking of using an AMD Ryzen with built-in PCIe. Has anyone else done a build like this and can share their experience?
