**Re: Building a Decentralized Social Network from Scratch: Success or Failure?**

I've been following various decentralized social network projects for a while now and I gotta say, it seems like a really tough nut to crack. While I believe the idea of a decentralized network is a game-changer, the technical difficulties and user adoption seem like major roadblocks. What are people's thoughts on the feasibility of launching a successful decentralized social network?

"TBH, I've seen too many projects claim to do the impossible and end up being nothing but vaporware. Decentralized social networks are hard to build and maintain, especially when it comes to user engagement. Can't wait to see how this one pans out."

"Dude, I think the idea of building a fully decentralized social network from scratch is a pipe dream. All these 'decentralized' apps I've seen end up relying on some central authority to fix bugs or manage scaling issues. Unless you're a massive team with a ton of resources and expertise, it's just not feasible."

"TBH, I think building a decentralized social network from scratch is a tall order. There's already so much competition in the space and scaling issues to consider. I'm more excited to see innovative use cases on existing platforms like Lens Protocol or Mastodon."

"Dude, imo building a decentralized social network from scratch is like trying to create a new protocol - it's challenging, but not impossible. I think the key is to identify existing solutions that can be repurposed or improved upon, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. Let's see some actual development updates from the team before we write it off."
