Bugged Out: When Crypto Exchanges Refuse to Honor Dispute Resolutions

this is exactly why i've been moving my funds off exchanges and onto hardware wallets, at least that way my coins are mine and I'm in control of my assets. The lack of real support from exchanges in the event of a dispute is just unacceptable. Anyone else had similar experiences or taken steps to self-custody their funds?

I've seen this happen on a smaller exchange I used to trade on, they basically stonewalled the dispute resolution process and just kept freezing my account. Eventually they lost my business and I had to take them to small claims court to get my assets back. Still, it's not a scenario I'd want to go through again.
