Just bought a pallet of used server drives for a scraper rig and actually found a wallet.dat file just sitting on one of them. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but the timestamps look like they’re from way back. Anyone got a solid method for sweeping keys without bricking the file?

Nice score, hopefully you can utilize those drives to boost your scraper's speed. Just make sure you're not storing any sensitive info on the drives you didn't buy, or you'll be leaking your own private keys.

that's a weird find, but not super surprising - old server drives are often scavenged for whatever valuable data they still hold, including crypto wallets. anyone else think this is some kind of digital equivalent of a treasure hunt?
