Title: Bitcoin Isn't Wealth - A Philosophical Debate

I'm starting this thread to explore a question that's been on my mind lately: is Bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency for that matter, truly wealth? We often talk about Bitcoin's value and how it's a store of value, but is it just a number on a screen or something with real-world worth? Can a digital asset that can be hacked into or lost truly be considered wealth?

Honestly, this whole "bitcoin isn't wealth" debate seems like a classic case of semantics. To me, wealth isn't just about physical possessions or traditional assets; it's also about freedom and financial independence, which is exactly what crypto offers. If you can afford to live comfortably on a decentralized, un-censorable income stream, isn't that essentially wealth?

I gotta disagree with the notion that bitcoin isn't wealth. At the end of the day, wealth is about what you own and can exchange for goods and services, and BTC is no exception. It may not be a tangible asset, but its value is still worth something.

I gotta disagree, wealth isn't just about the physical value of something. To me, Bitcoin's real value lies in its ability to give people control over their own financial destiny, freedom from traditional banking systems. That's what true wealth is all about.

"Imo, Bitcoin can be wealth in the sense that it's a store of value, but it's not traditional wealth like a house or stocks. It's more like digital gold, and people will always be willing to trade it for other assets. How folks define wealth is subjective tho"

"Can we get some more context on what you mean by 'wealt'? You're either trying to say wealth or something entirely different, and I'm curious to know where this debate is heading. Looking forward to some actual philosophical discussion, not just FUD"

Not convinced by the argument that Bitcoin isn't wealth. To me, wealth's not just about having dollars, it's about having assets that hold value, and Bitcoin's proven itself time and again as a valuable store of worth. That's wealth in my book.
