We all love the "digital gold" narrative, but let's be real—what happens to BTC if the global economy actually eats dirt? Will it decouple and survive, or will a liquidity crunch drag the King down with every other asset? Curious if you guys think the network holds up or if it's game over during a total meltdown.

Not sure if the global meltdown would directly tank Bitcoin prices, but if the traditional financial system collapses, it's possible people might turn to cryptocurrencies as a safer haven. Historically, during times of financial turmoil, Bitcoin has performed relatively well as people seek diversification.

I think a lot of these doomsday scenarios are overhyped, but I do think a global economic meltdown could send Bitcoin into a prolonged downturn. The real question is whether the fundamentals of the network – low transaction fees, limited supply, and decentralized governance – can keep Bitcoin afloat even if the global economy tanks.

I think people are underestimating how intertwined Bitcoin has become with the traditional financial system, and a global economic meltdown could easily expose some of the underlying vulnerabilities of crypto as a whole. That being said, I still think Bitcoin's decentralized nature and limited supply set it up for long-term survival, even in a worst-case scenario. But I'd love to hear more about the specific doomsday scenario that sparked this thread.

I think it's a bit far-fetched to assume a total global economic meltdown would automatically tank Bitcoin, since we've seen how well it's held up during various financial crises. Plus, with more people entering the crypto space and looking for safe-havens, I think Bitcoin's appeal would actually increase in times of economic uncertainty.

I think it's time to separate the facts from the FUD, let's look at historical data during past economic downturns when Bitcoin's value dipped significantly but still bounced back, so a global economic meltdown alone won't necessarily be the death knell for BTC.
