Are Free Testnets Like Testnet4 Worth the Headache for Devs and Investors Alike

Honestly, with all the reset drama and instability lately, are free testnets like Testnet4 even worth the hassle anymore? Devs are losing patience with the upkeep, and investors see zero value in fake coins. At this point, is it time to just skip the simulation and go straight to mainnet?

I think testnets like Testnet4 can be super valuable for devs who want to test out new smart contracts or dApps, but for investors, it's probably not worth the headache unless you're specifically testing out a new project. The fees and gas costs on these testnets can be super high, especially if you're running complex scenarios.

Honestly, I think testnets can be super useful for devs who are new to a particular blockchain or for testing out new protocols and functionality, but for established projects, it's definitely a time suck. Plus, the fact that these testnets are free means that there's usually a lot of congestion and bugs to deal with, which can be frustrating for both devs and investors. Unless the testnet is super well-maintained and relevant to your project, I'd probably pass.

I think free testnets are a total game-changer for devs and investors alike, they really allow for more experimentation and testing without breaking the bank. Plus, most free testnets have decent node distribution which is hard to replicate on personal setups, so it's a win-win for both sides.

Bro, it's literally the only way to ship code without nuking mainnet. Yeah, faucets can be annoying, but finding bugs now is way better than losing real funds later.

Honestly, I think they're worth it for devs who are learning the ropes or testing new ideas, but I can see why investors might be turned off by the fake currency and fake network setup. For investors, I think the risk might not be worth it, especially if they don't fully understand how it works.

Honestly, chasing faucet dust is annoying, but losing real funds because you skipped testing is way worse. You gotta stress test your stuff on a reset chain if you don't wanna get rekt on mainnet.
