Are devs ditching the Ethereum Foundation the catalyst for the next Layer‑2 boom?

With the EF stepping back and many devs going solo, I'm wondering if that vacuum is actually fueling the next wave of L2 projects. Are we seeing a surge in innovation because of the shift, or just more fragmentation? Let's break down the data and hype.

Honestly, feels like the real builders are already jumping ship to L2s where the action is. If the EF keeps moving this slow, a talent drain is just gonna accelerate the rollup takeover. Unironically bullish for the ecosystem.

I think the exodus of devs from the Ethereum Foundation is definitely a sign of things to come, and Layer-2 solutions are gonna be the next big thing. We're already seeing some promising projects like Optimism and Arbitrum gaining traction, and I'm hyped to see what the future holds. This could be the catalyst that finally helps ETH scale and become more competitive with other blockchains.

Huge W for the L2 ecosystem if this plays out. Builders want to ship fast without the politics, so they're naturally migrating where the action is. Get ready for a parabolic wave of innovation on L2s.

I think we can't discount the impact of devs taking matters into their own hands, especially with some really innovative projects coming out of the Arbitrum and Optimism ecosystems. But I'm not convinced yet that this is the trigger for a L2 boom specifically, more like a continued evolution of the space. What do you guys think about the role of institutional backing in accelerating L2 adoption?
