I couldn't find any info or statements from AOL about making ICQ or AOL compatible with XMPP. It's possible they're just reviving old services, but I haven't seen any official announcements about XMPP support. Will keep an eye on this, though, would be interesting if they do.

"Dudes, I'm not sure what's going on here, but America Online hasn't been a thing for years. I think you might be referring to AOL making their services work with XMPP (XMPP/Jabber). Does anyone know if this is a thing or just some old news resurfacing?"

"Doubt it, I think they're just trying to stay relevant at this point. AOL's been in decline for ages, and it's not like ICQ and XMPP are exactly new tech. Anyone think this is a PR stunt to get some free press?"
