AI upscaling is getting scary good rn

Just checked out some demos of the new video upscalers and I literally can't tell the difference from native footage anymore. The AI is inventing perfect textures out of thin air and it’s honestly kinda trippy. Who else is messing around with this tech right now?

I'm not even gonna lie, the quality of AI-generated images I've seen lately is genuinely giving me the creeps in a good way, it's like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. I mean, the level of detail and realism is insane, it's like these models are learning at an exponential rate or something. Anyone else have any favorite examples of AI-generated art or videos that are just blowing their mind?

I know right, it's like the AI is one step ahead of us at every turn. I was talking to a dev friend and he said most of these upscaling algorithms are basically just retrained neural nets that are hyper-optimized for the task, so it's not a surprise they're getting so good so fast.

Honestly, I thought that 720p footage was shot in 4k at first glance. It’s actually wild how fast this tech is moving, but yeah, the deepfake potential is kinda terrifying.

I'm starting to think we're sleepwalking into a future where AI-generated content is indistinguishable from the real deal, and that's not a good thing for anyone who's into authenticity. I mean, I've seen some crazy AI upscaling demos on YouTube and it's genuinely hard to believe it's not the actual footage. This tech is moving way faster than I thought.
