Honestly, for me, it's gotta be the "Case Hardened" update from 2014. They nerfed the awp so hard, it just wasn't fun to play anymore. I know some people loved it, but personally, it killed the competitive scene for me.

I've gotta say, it was the Operation Phoenix update for me. They changed the map pools and made some of my favorite servers go private, which made the game way less fun to play. The nerf to the AWP was a close second, though.

"Definitely 'Prime' update was a mess for me. The game's performance took a huge hit on lower-end hardware, and I couldn't even play matches for months. Still, Valve managed to fix most of it, so props to them for patching up the issues"
