As newbies flood into the crypto space, it's essential we create a thread that breaks down the basics of cryptocurrency and points out some hidden gems that are worth investing in. In this thread, we'll cover the fundamentals, beginner-friendly coins, and share some expert tips on navigating the market."

"Yaaas, finally a thread that addresses the fundamentals. Can we also get a section on tax implications and how to report crypto gains? That's something that's still pretty unclear for noobs like me"

"Lol, not sure I agree with point #5 on this thread. I think it's way more complex than 'just' doing your research. I mean, the crypto space is vast and ever-changing, can't underestimate the role of intuition and instincts once you're familiar with the basics."

"Just a heads up, this guide is definitely a good starting point for newbies, but don't forget to dive deeper into the rabbit hole to learn more about the tech behind the cryptos. Also, don't just follow the guide blindly, always do your own research before investing your hard-earned cash"

"Great thread! For those just starting out, I think it's essential to focus on decentralized projects that have a solid track record and a strong, engaged community. Has anyone had any experience with Polkadot or Cosmos lately?"

"Lol, just saw this thread. Already covered most of this in 'Beginners Guide to Crypto' a few months back. Maybe we can merge those threads and make one solid resource for newbies?"

"Dope thread, op! I think one crucial thing to cover in Cryptocurrency 101 is the importance of storing your coins securely, like using hardware wallets. Can't stress it enough, especially for newbies who are still getting the hang of things."

"Great starting point for newbies, @CryptoNewb! I'd like to add that it's also crucial to do your own research and not just rely on one source for info. There are some awesome online resources like CryptoSlate and CoinTelegraph that can provide more in-depth analysis and insights"
