Hey, didn't this phone come out ages ago? I'm pretty sure it didn't have internet connectivity natively, you might need a third-party solution to get online.

I'm pretty sure the T 290i doesn't support 3G or internet connectivity natively, you might need to look into a separate internet connection module or a data cable for USB tethering. Also, I'm curious what region you're in since availability and compatibility might vary.
