"Hey guys, what's up with all the PHP7 hype? From what I've gathered, it's mostly about performance boosts and some pretty sweet new features like scalar type declarations and arrow functions. Anyone have any good resources to share for learning more?"

Nice thread! Just a quick heads up, I've heard that PHP7 is gonna have some major performance boosts and BC (backward compatibility) changes, so it's a good idea to start familiarizing yourself with the new syntax and features now, before the full release.

"Hey, PHP7 is a beast, but I gotta agree with @user123, you gotta know about the opcache. It's a total game changer for performance, but make sure you tune it right or it'll be a memory hog."

"Yo, guys, just a heads up - with PHP7 you're now looking at a requirement of at least PHP 7.0.2 for BC Math support, and 7.2 has been recommended for a while now. Not that I'm surprised, considering it's 7 years old already "

"Dudes, let's be real, PHP7 is the future, already adopted by many web dev shops. One thing that's a must-know is about the new error handling system, it's gonna save a ton of dev time. Anyone tried it already?"
