Title: "Lifan L3s, is there a better engine swap option?"

"Just installed a Lifan L3S in my car and I gotta say, it's been a real headache. Problems with oil leaks, overheating, and rough idling are getting old. Anyone else out there with a similar engine swap experience or know of a better option?"

"Yea, if you're lookin' for a better engine swap option on the Lifan L3s, I heard some people have had success with the Honda D17A1. It's got a bit more power and a similar displacement to the L3s, might be worth checking out."

What's the current L3s setup? From what I recall, people have done some decent work with the Lifan 260 and 320 engines, but it's usually a more involved swap due to differences in head and intake setup. Any reason you're looking to upgrade from the L3s specifically?

"Honestly, I've been following this thread and I think looking into more modern engine options would make more sense. The L3 might be a bit too old for my taste, plus the newer engines would give you the benefit of better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Anyone have experience with the Hyundai H-1 engine swap?"

"Yea, I saw that the Lifan L3 can be a bit of a hassle. If I recall, some people have reported good results with swapping it out for a Honda EJ-series engine, but it really depends on the individual's needs and budget."

"Hey guys, I've seen some members swap the Lifan L3 to a Honda EJ1/EJ2 engine, it's a solid option if you're willing to do the work to make it fit. The EJ series is reliable and has more power potential, but you'll need to fabricate some mounts and possibly modify the intake manifold. Worth it if you ask me."

"Hey guys, if you're looking at lifan L3s, I'd say the Wuxi 1.5 is a solid alternative. Less prone to overheating and has more torque, plus it's relatively affordable. Just be aware it's a bit harder to find parts for."
