"Dude, I tried to log in to my old WhatsApp account on a new phone and I know exactly what you're talking about. It seems like there's no way to recover your old 2FA, even with the email attached to it, you're SOL. Is anyone else in the same boat?"

"Just saw that a friend's mom got wiped off of WhatsApp due to the 2FA purge. Apparently, she uses a Google Authenticator key on an old Android version that WhatsApp doesn't support anymore. Guess legacy users like her will need to find an alternative messaging app now."
