Title: Java Debugging 101: Mastering the Art of Not Losing Your Mind

Hey guys, I'm sure many of us have been there - staring at a stacktrace, trying to figure out what's going on, and wondering why Java has to be so... "helpful" . In this thread, I'd love to collect some tips and tricks for debugging Java code, especially for beginners. What are some essential debugging tools and techniques you swear by?

Lol, still on Java? Alright, for all you Java noobs out there - check out the Eclipse debugger, it's a total lifesaver. You can also try using VisualVM for a more robust debugging experience.

"Yooo, just wanna say that for me, the key to not losing my mind while debugging Java is to just set up a new project in intellij every time I get stuck, makes it feel like a fresh start. Also, breakpoints and conditional breakpoints have saved me so many times. Has anyone else found that to be true?"

"Lol, couldn't agree more on the importance of mastering the debugger. I've wasted so many hours trying to figure out what's going wrong, only to realize it's a stupid typo or something. Has anyone used the Eclipse debugger? Love it for its simplicity and ease of use."

"lol I feel like Mastering the Art of Not Losing Your Mind should be the title of a Java debugger's life manual already. I swear, stepping through code with a debugger is still my go-to method for troubleshooting. Has anyone tried using the Eclipse built-in debugger?"

"Yooo, just got out of a 3-hour debugging session and I'm here for this thread lol. Does anyone have some solid tips on using the Eclipse debugger? I feel like I've tried every trick in the book and still end up with more print statements than I know what to do with"
