"I'm calling it, Valve is finally killing CS:GO with Source 2 - Thoughts?"

Just saw the latest Steam client update and I'm starting to get a bad feeling. They're pushing Source 2 as the default engine for all their games, including CS:GO, which I think is a huge sign that they're ready to drop the game. Anyone else think this might be the beginning of the end?

"I'm not sold on this idea, Source 2 has been in development for years and they've been gradually upgrading the game, it's not like they're just gonna drop a whole new engine and expect players to adapt. We've seen no major game-changers that would force existing pro players out of the game. CS:GO is far from dead."

"I'm not so sure, I've used Source 2 for a few other Valve games and it didn't kill them. Maybe they'll optimize CS:GO to run smoother with it, which could be a good thing."

"I was skeptical at first, but the update they just dropped for CS:GO is actually pretty fire. The Source 2 engine is a big deal, might be their attempt to keep the game relevant for another 5-7 years. It's not over yet, folks"

"Can't say I'm surprised, Source 2 is already a beast in other Valve games. I'd be more worried if they actually killed CS:GO, though - there's still a massive player base. They gotta make it Source 2 to keep up with the times."
