Title: Hacked into a Gmail Account Using Only a Phone Number - Possible?

Hey guys, hope you're all doing well. Just had a weird experience where someone tried to hack into my Gmail account using just my phone number. I know that 2FA codes can be sent via SMS, but is it possible for someone to exploit this vulnerability or gain access to my account?

"Dude, in most cases, the answer is no. Unless they used a SIM swap attack or had access to your two-factor auth settings, it's extremely unlikely they could gain full access to your Gmail account just with a phone number. Still, better safe than sorry, right?"

"Dude, I think it's super sketchy, but yeah, it's possible. Phone number hacking isn't exactly new, and I've seen vids of people doing it via 2FA bypass. But let's be real, it's gotta be a pretty specific situation for this to work, like an expired or weak 2FA code"

"Nah, I don't think so. Phishing attacks are usually targeted at getting your login credentials, not relying on just a phone number. Unless they found some super sophisticated SIM swap attack, it's probably not possible."

"Dude, it's highly possible with the right exploits, but we need more context. Are we talking about a full-blown phishing attack or something more sophisticated like SIM swapping? Either way, it's not impossible, but it's gotta be pretty rare"

"Dude, I've heard of SIM swap attacks being used to gain access to email and other accounts. If someone has your phone number, they could potentially port it to a new device and gain access to your Google account via 2-factor auth. Just be careful with your phone number and keep it secure"

"Yep, it's definitely possible. Been hearing a lot about phone number-based hacks lately, especially with how many people reuse passwords. Think SMS-based 2FA is a weak link, personally."
