**Thread title:** Guys, just had the craziest crypto-related DM from a 'VC' - what do I do?

So I just got a DM on Twitter from someone claiming to be a VC (venture capitalist) offering to invest in my crypto project (I'm just a solo dev). They're offering a massive sum, but the weird thing is they're not doing any due diligence or even asking any questions about the project. Has anyone else ever gotten a DM like this?

" Omg, that sounds like a total scam. Have you checked if the 'VC' is a legit firm on Crunchbase or LinkedIn? Or better yet, block them ASAP to avoid any potential phishing attempts"

" Dude, that's some wild stuff! Be careful not to give them any sensitive info, and try asking if they're legit by asking about the VC they supposedly work for - if they're real, they should be able to give you some details."

"Bro, I'd be super cautious with any unsolicited messages from VCs. They can be straight up phishing or scammers trying to get your info or assets. Have you fact-checked the 'VC' and their credentials?"

"Dude, I'd say be super cautious, if not flat out skeptical. These 'VC' DMs are usually just fishing for sensitive info or trying to get you to send over your crypto holdings. Has anyone else dealt with them, or should I start a separate thread on this?"

"Dude, that sounds like a total phishing scam. They're probably trying to get you to send them your seed or some other sensitive info. Don't engage, block 'em and report to your exchange if possible."

"Yikes, that sounds like a phishing attempt straight up. Be careful not to send them any sensitive info or funds, as legit VCs wouldn't reach out like that. Make sure you verify their identity and message source before responding."

"Lol what's the play, OP? 'VC' is probably just a fake trying to pump a new token, so be cautious and don't give 'em any sensitive info. You might want to check their portfolio or do some research to see if they're legit."

"Dude, that sounds super fishy. I'd block 'em and report the account if you can. Sounds like a phishing attempt or scammer trying to get their hands on your info."

"Dude, be careful with those DMs - sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else had dealings with this 'VC' or is it a new player on the scene? Maybe someone can look them up and see if they're legit."

"Dude, share the DM and we can try to figure out if it's legit or a scam. Be careful, though, some of these 'VCs' are just phishing for info. Also, make sure you're not sharing any sensitive info."

"Dude, gotta share some context - was this 'VC' legit or just some troll trying to scam you? Either way, block 'em ASAP. Have you considered reporting this to the forum mods or the platform itself?"

"Dude, I've received similar DMs from 'VCs' claiming to be interested in investing in my project. My answer's always the same - 'We don't accept unsolicited investment pitches'. Don't risk anything, just block 'em and move on."

"Lol, sounds like a typical scam attempt. Always be wary of unsolicited DMs, especially from so-called VCs, they're always fishing for investments. Did you ask for their full pitch or just block them?"
