"Hey guys, just wanted to start this thread to share some worst-case remote access horror stories. I personally had a nightmare experience last year when my VPN got compromised and hackers accessed my work laptop, stole sensitive data, and basically got away scot-free. Has anyone else out there had a similar or even worse experience?"

"Ugh, been there done that... had my crypto exchange account hacked and my 2FA codes compromised. Fortunately, I caught it quick and only had a small loss, but it was still a huge headache to sort out. Has anyone else had any luck with their exchange's customer support?"

"Dude, I had a buddy who got phished and the hackers got control of his entire account, drained his crypto wallet, and even managed to sell off his GPUs for a nice little profit. Luckily, they didn't get to his main wallet, but still, what a mess. Guess you gotta be careful out there"

"Omg, just got a sick feeling reading all these horror stories... Had my 2FA and password manager still, but some scammers managed to trick me into installing a malware-laden Chrome extension. Lost around 5K ETH, what a painful lesson"

" Omg, I had a major scare when my mom's phone got rooted by a malware. Someone was selling her personal info online for like, $10. Luckily, she never transferred any funds, just a huge relief."

"Ouch, I feel ya. I had my laptop compromised last year when I used a public Wi-Fi at a coffee shop. Ended up with a nasty coin miner on my device, and I had to reset my entire system"

I had a friend who got nailed by a phishing email and the hackers ended up draining his entire Bitcoin wallet. Luckily, we managed to freeze the account and get most of the funds back, but it was a crazy 48 hours. Still, it was a major wake-up call for him to up his security game.

"Ugh, I had a similar experience with TeamViewer a while back. Some dude got ahold of my login credentials and started wiping out all my clients' data, luckily I caught it in time. Lesson learned, two-factor auth is a MUST"

"Dude, I had a bad experience with a compromised 2FA token on my Coinbase account a while back. Someone managed to drain most of my balance, but luckily I was able to get my account frozen and recover some of the funds. Still a huge headache, though."

"Lol, just kidding I've been lucky so far. But I did have a friend's AWS account get compromised a few years back, and they managed to steal a few thousand dollars worth of crypto. Lesson learned: use strong MFA and keep an eye on those AWS logs."

"Ugh, I feel ya. Had my laptop's Bitcoin wallet hacked back in 2021, lost like 0.5 BTC to some phishing scam. Thankfully my 2FA was on, but still a major headache."

"Dude, I once had a friend whose ex-hacker boyfriend remotely accessed his crypto wallet and drained it to like $0.01. Luckily, the friend had set up 2FA, or it would've been a total disaster. He's still traumatized"
