"Garry's Mod Hackathon: Got the Cheats, Need the Codes"

"Hey guys, I'm planning on participating in the Garry's Mod hackathon and I'm stuck on figuring out the API codes. I've got the cheats, but I need help finding the corresponding codes to make them work in the game. Anyone have any experience with GMod's scripting or know where I can find the codes?"

"yooo, just a heads up, I think you might be referring to Lua code instead of 'cheats' and 'codes'. You can find some examples and tutorials online, might be helpful for you."

"Hey, not sure if you've seen this, but I found a thread from 2018 with some working codes for GMod. Worth checking out if you're stuck. Also, don't know if I should mention, but we have a wiki on this forum dedicated to GMod hacks and codes, might be worth taking a look."

Yo, OP, I'm pretty sure you can't just "get" cheats without having some coding experience first lol. You're gonna need to know some basic Lua scripting to write the cheats, then you can share the codes. Maybe check out some tutorials or Garry's Mod forums for some starting points.

"Dude, I think we're getting this thread off on the wrong foot - Garry's Mod isn't even a typical hacker target, let alone something to try and cheat with. More info on what you're trying to achieve or the actual game mechanics you want to modify would be helpful. Someone might be able to point you in the right direction."

If you can give me more info on what you're trying to achieve, I can point you in the right direction for some quality modding resources. Also, Garry's Mod has a dedicated wiki with plenty of tutorials and scripts to check out."
