Title: Free VPS Options: Legit or Scam?

I've been searching for free VPS options for some side projects and I found a few places claiming to offer them, but I'm not sure if they're legit or just trying to scam users. Has anyone else used these services or have any recommendations for free VPS providers? I don't want to compromise my projects' security by using some shady host.

"Hey guys, I've tried a few 'free' VPS options in the past and gotta say, most of 'em are sketchy. I did find one legit option called Inwx, they offer a free VPS with some decent specs. Worth checking out if you're looking for a cheap alternative."

"Imo, most free VPS options are legit but come with some caveats. They usually have limited resources, ads, or require you to promote their service. I've used InfinityFree and Linode's free tier, both were decent for small projects."

"Legit or scam seems to be a grey area lol. I've used VPS providers like OVH, Linode, and DigitalOcean, which are all solid options. Anyone try these free VPS options like Vultr or 1and1 ionos VPS?"

"Just had a look into this, and it seems like VPSfree.io is offering legit free VPS hosting for a year with some limitations. However, be aware that you'll have to upgrade or pay for it after 12 months. Anyone else have any experience with them?"

I've used a few free VPS options like OVH's 7-day free trial and Linode's free tier. They're decent for small projects or testing, but don't expect high specs or 24/7 support. You get what you pay for, right?
