I just shared some of my worst Etsy hauls with friends and I'm still laughing about the time I bought a "handmade" candle that looked suspiciously like a cheap vase with some paraffin wax thrown in. Who else has a horror story about a handmade item that ended up being a hot mess?

OMG, I had the worst experience with a handmade necklace on Etsy last year. The vendor sent me a literally broken chain with a melted stone - talk about a major disappointment. Has anyone else had a similar horror story?

Haha, I had a similar experience with a 'custom' painting I bought from a Etsy artist - it was like they threw some stuff against the wall and hoped it would stick. The best part was when I tried to contact them and they just ghosts me. Needless to say, I won't be shopping from them again

Love this thread! I once got a handmade 'solid gold' necklace from a seller in China that turned out to be copper plated. The worst part was they claimed it was 'vintage' lol.

Omg, I totally feel you, guys! I once bought a 'handmade' crystal necklace from Etsy thinking it was a unique piece, but it turned out to be a plain old glass bead necklace. Guess you get what you pay for, right?
