Hey fellow devs, I'm planning my next project and I'm considering Erlang and Elixir as my options. For those who are new, like me, what's the difference between the two and which one is better suited for a high-performant project? I've heard Elixir is more user-friendly but I'm worried it might not be as scalable as Erlang.

"Haven't used Elixir myself, but I've heard great things about its concurrency model and fault-tolerance features. If you're looking for something to replace an aging Erlang system, Elixir seems like a good choice, but you should also consider the learning curve and whether your team is already familiar with it. Any Elixir devs in the house who can chime in?"

"Been experimenting with Elixir for a while, and gotta say, it's a beast for concurrent programming. The Erlang VM is top-notch and handles distributed systems like a charm. If you're looking for something to scale, give it a shot"

"Yeh, I've been experimenting with Elixir lately and I gotta say it's a beast for high-performant projects. I've seen some crazy throughput numbers from the Phoenix framework, it's like it was built for scalability. What are your thoughts on using Erlang's OTP for state management?"

"Yooo, Elixir fam! Don't sleep on it, Elixir's concurrency model and OTP (Ericsson's original Transactional Protocol) is straight fire for building scalable and fault-tolerant systems. If you're still using Ruby, making the switch to Elixir can be a total game-changer!"

"Erlang and Elixir are definitely solid choices for high-performance projects, especially with the scalability and concurrency they offer. I've had great experiences with Phoenix and Elixir for building real-time applications, but it ultimately depends on the specific use case and requirements. Has anyone else used them for anything notable?"

"Erlang and Elixir are awesome for building concurrent systems, but if you're new to it, be prepared for a steep learning curve. Have you guys checked out Phoenix Framework? It makes building real-time web apps a breeze."

"Dude, I've had some experience with Elixir, it's a solid choice for web dev. Its concurrency model is on point and OTP is a game changer, but be prepared for a gentle learning curve. Anybody else had experience with Phoenix?"
