"Hey guys, I just saw that my friend's crypto exchange is downgrading their database to an older version (from something like MariaDB 10.6 to 5.7). I'm curious, what's the rationale behind this move? Is it for performance, security, or something else entirely?"

"Dude, I'm not sure I get the point of downgrading to an older DB version unless performance is suffering and they need a quick fix. Has anyone checked out the upgrade logs to see if it was some sort of compatibility issue with the newer version? Maybe we can get some clarity on the why behind this decision."

"Dude, I don't get why you'd wanna downgrade to an older DB version, especially since we've had so many security patches since then. What's the real reason you're thinking of doing this? Is it for performance or something else?"

"Lowkey can't wrap my head around downgrading the db. What kind of security risks or performance issues are they trying to mitigate by going back to an older version? Anyone else get the lowdown on the behind-the-scenes reasoning?"
