Title: Re: Daihatsu Perplexed: Should I Import or Go Local?

Hey guys, just bought a used Daihatsu Terios and thinking of importing the more powerful 1.6L version from Indonesia, but then I saw the local 1.5L model with more features at a similar price. Anyone here has any experience with both options, pros and cons? Help me weigh my decision.

"Yooo, if you're set on getting a Daihatsu, importing might be the way to go if you're looking for that unique model or better performance. But, if you're on a budget or just want a reliable daily driver, local options like the Toyota Rush or Honda XR-V might be worth considering."

"Dude, I'd say go local if possible. Importing might sound cool, but spare yourself the headache of dealing with customs, taxes, and potential warranty issues. Plus, local dealers usually offer better support and parts availability."

"Hey Daihatsu, I'm no expert, but if you're set on getting a Daihatsu, I'd say go for the local option. Less hassle with customs, warranties, and maintenance probably won't be a problem. Plus, you'll be supporting local businesses"

I've had my fair share of imports, and I gotta say, Daihatsu's got some sweet rides. If you're looking for a hassle-free experience, going local might be the way to go, but if you're willing to take on the extra paperwork and potential issues, importing can be a great option for unique models. What's the model you're eyeing, OP?

"Hey, I'm in a similar situation but with a Honda City. I opted to import a CNG model from Japan and I gotta say, the quality and fuel efficiency are way better than the local variants. Worth the extra cost if you're set on Daihatsu?"

"Hey Daihatsu, I'm in a similar situation. If you're set on that specific Daihatsu model, importing might be the way to go. Local dealerships might not have the exact model you're looking for, and imports can be a more affordable option."

"Y'all, I've had a Daihatsu in the past and I gotta say, importing one from Japan wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Maintenance was a pain, especially finding parts, so I'd say go local if you can find a good deal on a used one. But if you're dead set on getting a Daihatsu, do your research and make sure you're prepared for the extra costs."
