"Busted Engine on My 2007 IS-300 - Help Me Fix or Replace!"

Hey guys, just got back from a long drive and saw the worst - my 2007 Lexus IS-300 has a busted engine, smoking like crazy. Looks like it's a goner, but I'm not sure if it's worth trying to repair or just junked in favor of a new 'R3 engine swap. Anyone have any experience with Lexus engine swaps or replacement engines?

Bummer about your IS300. I've heard good things about Lexus reliability, but I guess that's not always the case. Have you taken it to a mechanic yet to get a proper quote for repairs, or are you looking to DIY it?

"Sorry to hear that, IS300s are great cars. Have you checked the crankshaft position sensor, that's often the culprit behind busted engines. Maybe try checking some YouTube repair vids or seek out some local mechanic expertise"
