Hey guys, I'm about to drop out of college and I'm thinking of selling some handmade jewelry and crafts on Etsy to make some extra cash. Has anyone else done this before? I'm wondering what the biggest mistakes are that new vendors make and how to avoid them.

Hey guys, I've been selling on Etsy for a bit now and I gotta say, research is key. Don't be lazy and just slap a pretty picture and some vague description – figure out what's trending and tailor your stuff to that. Invest in good photography and keyword optimization too

I've seen some success on Etsy by specializing in a specific niche and using high quality photos, but you also gotta be ready to engage with potential customers and answer their questions as soon as possible, it makes all the difference in building trust and getting those first few sales. Don't be afraid to promote your shop on social media and join relevant handmade groups too, word of mouth can be a huge help. Consider offering free shipping or discounts for first time buyers to draw in more customers.
