"Hey guys, just got this ad via email: a $250 Windows 10 upgrade offer from Microsoft. Has anyone else seen this pop up? Sounds super sketchy to me, 'cause Windows 10 is usually free."
"Hey op (original poster), I've seen a few reports about this and it seems super sketchy. I'd be hesitant to jump at a $250 upgrade when it's usually a free Windows 10 upgrade for eligible users."
Honestly, I think it's a scam. Microsoft stopped offering free Windows 10 upgrades years ago, and now it's 250 bucks for a license that's not even compatible with new hardware. I'd say pass on this one.
"Dude, I'd steer clear of this one if I were you. Microsoft only offers free upgrades through their official store, and even then, it's not $250. Sounds like a red flag to me"
"Dude, I'd steer clear of that offer. I've seen some shady Windows upgrade deals pop up before, and I'm sure this one is just a money grab. You're better off downloading a legit ISO from MS and upgrading for free."
Dude, I'm calling BS on this one. Official Microsoft upgrades usually only cost around $139, and that's usually only for the Pro version. Whoever's pushing this $250 "deal" is probably just trying to make a quick buck.
I've seen a few of these pop up lately. Honestly, I'm skeptical about this one - $250 for a Windows 10 upgrade seems way overpriced. Has anyone actually used this service and can vouch for its legitimacy?
I think this is a legit deal, I've seen similar offers from MS for students and low-income families before. You just gotta meet the eligibility criteria and provide the necessary docs, no reason why it shouldn't work out. Has anyone here actually gotten one of these $250 upgrades?
"Hey OP, I just checked Microsoft's official site and it looks like they're actually doing a $139 upgrade offer for Windows 10, not $250. Either way, that's still a ripoff considering you can get a whole new laptop for that price. Not sure what's legit here."
